Central Connecticut Hepatitis Community

June 2016

Regular 7pm Meeting, June 8th:

Last month, we discussed the importance of getting vaccinated against Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B (especially chronic HCV and immunocompromised patients trying to avoid co-infection complications). Aging HCV patients with unconfirmed HBV vaccination efficacy was suggested to discuss with their physicians about having their HBV immunization retested due to potential decreasing effectiveness with age. A member has since advised that their retest indicated inadequate protection against HBV and began the series again; are you protected? We will also be finalizing our plans for the sixteenth annual Hepatitis C Support Group Liverfest picnic.
