Central Connecticut Hepatitis Community

May 2009

Regular 7pm Meeting on May 13th:

May is National Hepatitis Awareness Month! Join the HepB Foundation in celebrating Hepatitis Awareness Month, including World Hepatitis Day 2009 on May 19th. Bring your family and friends to our meeting and other events to help raise awareness of Hepatitis by advocating that those who participated in activities (even what some consider normal activities when a child) that may have put them as risk to get tested. Weill Cornell Medical College Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology And The Center for The Study of Hepatitis C is holding a free Viral Hepatitis Event on the 19th from 6-8pm in NYC; RSVP required.
Future 2009 Meetings

Late June (not part of the regular meeting) will be 'LiverFest 2009', our annual picnic. Date, Time and Location TBD (looking for a chairperson to coordinate). We have asked Dr. Wu to speak to us at our Sept. 9th meeting and are awaiting confirmation.
Prospects for additional meetings:

A Naturopathic Doctor, Connecticut Attorneys, psychiatry professional, massage therapy education and experience, a medical presentation on HIV/HCV co-infection issues and a relaxational meeting, especially targeting Relapsers and Non-Responders (RNR) using alternative therapies are some of the ideas on the table.
