Regular Meeting on April 11th:
Meet across the hall in ARB Small EG052 due to the red cross sit down dinner.
Debera Palmeri, RN-CCTC, Hartford Hospital Liver Transplant program Coordinator, will discuss their transplant program.
As April has been proclaimed by President Bush as National National Donate Life Month, 2007, we have invited transplantee Gary Kureczka, representing the Donate Life Organization, to broaden our knowledge about liver transplantation and the Donate Life Program.
Also invited is Caitlyn Bento, BA who is representing Life Choice Donor Services (a Donate Life Organization), which is our area's Organ Procurement Organization, to speak about organ and tissue donation.
Future Meetings
May is our hepatitis awareness month and on May 9th we will hold an informal group roundtable discussion regarding the various hepatitis diseases.
June 24th (raindate July 1) will be 'LiverFest 2007', our annual picnic, at Hubbard Park in Meriden.
July 11 and August 8th is open forum roundtable discussions.
Sept 12th is TBD; we are awaiting confirmation about Dr. Wu availability for speaking to the group.
October and November is TBD, also awaiting confirmation.
December 12th is the Annual Holiday party where we plan LIVERing it up.
Prospects for additional 2007 meetings:
A Naturopathic Doctor, Connecticut Attorneys, psychiatry professional and a medical presentation on HIV/HCV co-infection issues.
