Central Connecticut Hepatitis Community

March 2007

Regular Meeting on March 14th:

Our March meeting will be run by the CHCgroup second facilitator, Barbara, giving Marty a vacation from his monthly presentations. In the spirit of Saint Patrick's Day this weekend, we are hoping the informal roundtable style meetings, such as this one planned, will be another step toward the proverbial 'pot of gold' cure at the end of our ongoing clinical trial rainbows. As we are all a bit irish on St. Patrick's Day, join us in trying to separate the truth from the blarney while continuing to learn about these liver diseases and how to combat the side effects of the diseases and their treatments.
Future Meetings

April is National Donate Life Month. Hartford Hospital Liver Transplant program Coordinator, Debera Palmeri, RN-CCTC will discuss their transplant program. We have asked that transplant patient and donor advocate Gary Kureczka join us, speaking on Liver Donation and the Donate Life Program.

May is National Hepatitis Awareness month and we will have informal round table discussions regarding the various hepatitis diseases.

Late June will be 'LiverFest 2007', our annual picnic.
Prospects for additional 2007 meetings:

A Naturopathic Doctor, Connecticut Attorneys, psychiatry professional and a medical presentation on HIV/HCV co-infection issues.
