Regular Meeting on September 13th:
CHCgroup is pleased to present Dr. George Wu giving attendees an update on hepatitis B virus, particularly rampant in the Asian - American population. Most people are infected at birth or by infected family members and left untreated, may develop to liver cancer and death. Visit our regular meeting beginning at 7:00pm and receive an update about the treatable and preventable HBV disease. Dr. Wu is widely published on very technical articles and papers on various research topics, some select publication references listed in this month's agenda.

Call to contribute, join us or simply come and cheer for us on Sunday, September 10, 2006 morning at the second annual Football Walk for Liver Wellness fundraiser by the American Liver Foundation at Rentschler Field (Home of the UConn Huskies)in East Hartford.
PSC support group will be hosting a "Transplant Case Management" series, the first topic being "Insurance Transplant Case Management" on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006 from 10am-noon. Register at ALF (203-234-2022)as space limited.
Confirmation is pending whether the October 11, 2006 meeting or the November 8, 2006 meeting will be either the informal confidential group roundtable discussions or the massage therapist; we will advise when confirmed. October will also include the addition of any nominees on a ballot for a December vote for a renewable two year facilitator term.
Without prior nominations, the December 13, 2006 meeting will commence with a brief vote of affirmation for Marty and Adrian as Co-Facilitators, unless there are other prior nominees on the ballot, at which point there will be a vote for the two year facilitator renewable term. Following the speedy Facilitator(s) resolve, the Annual Holiday Party will monopolize the remainder of the meeting.
In February 2007, Irene O'Brien, LCSW of the Wallingford VNA, former hepatitis C group facilitator and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, is planned to discuss how the public social security administration system may be put to work for patients, in particular the TITLE XIX grants to states for medical assistance programs.
