The meeting commencement was delayed, with some late arrivals, however following opening remarks it was noted that this is the first round-table open-forum of 2006. Being informal, without speakers and pre-selected topics, we were fortunate to have Sharon Dellinger, APRN accompany us through the meeting; Sharon works at Dr. Polio's office in the GI department of St. Francis Hospital.
Members and guests were assured that personal information given at the meetings, including contact information, is strictly CONFIDENTIAL and would not be sent to outside sources beyond the co-facilitators unless specifically requested. After a few housekeeping items, there were lively conversations, including insight from Nurse Dellinger about Fibrospect II by Prometheus Lab in California (1-888-423-5227) as well as transjugular biopsy for select hemopheliacs.
While the State of Connecticut Department of Health Services requires local public healh departments report the numbers of new cases by town, there appears to be three times the number of cases reported locally versus those that are published statewide.
Wallingford HCV group has a Tai Chi class scheduled on May 16, 2006 at 6:15pm, an earlier time than normal, followed by a light supper at 7:15pm and then regular meeting. While Marty said he will not attend, Adrian indicated he would provide support from CHCgroup for their meeting.
CHCgroup thanks Nurse Dellinger for her considerate guidance with member inquiries and medical guidance and we appreciate that Sharon was able to stay with the group for most of the evening.
There appeared to be very little interest in LiverFest '06, the annual picnic, nor the work necessary to make the event successful. It was requested that members consider whether this tradition should be continued at the same level.
